On Saturday, September 13, 2025, S.O.A.R. proudly hosted its 5th Annual Rock the Block community celebration on West 7th Avenue in Roselle, New Jersey. This signature event brought together residents, families, and supporters for an afternoon filled with live music, performances, games, vendors, and family-friendly activities designed to celebrate unity and uplift the community.
The event featured special appearances from Councilwoman-at-Large Denise Wilkerson, Senator Joseph Cryan, and the outstanding support of 10 Linden High School JROTC students, who volunteered their time and service to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for all. Guest performances included Danny “Bookem” Rivera and D’Nean Wynn, who energized the crowd with powerful music and messages. Hosting duties were expertly carried out by Susan Ladson, with DJ Matlon Productions keeping the atmosphere lively throughout the day.
In addition to entertainment, the event highlighted over a dozen community vendors showcasing local products and services, while children enjoyed face painting, games, and creative activities that kept the family spirit alive.
S.O.A.R. extends heartfelt gratitude to its generous sponsors, Amazon Distribution Center, Wegmans-Woodbridge, and ShopRite of Garwood, whose support helped make Rock the Block possible. A special thank you also goes to the many volunteers, performers, and partners who contributed their time, talent, and energy.
